This is an area of old tin mines and other mineral workings. The old Engine Houses (which housed the steam powered beam engines used for pumping out water) and other industrial buildings are part of the UNESCO Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site.
Only a few yards away is a fully functioning tin mine.
Out in the middle of nowhere was this wrought iron gate.

Each year the Cornwall Centre ACU (Auto Cycle Union) run an End to End Trial for motorcycle and sidecars – that is an end to end of Cornwall, running East to West and touching both North and South coasts.
This lovely old pub at Trevaunance Cove, near St Agnes, provided a good strong morning coffee and a packed lunch for later.
More industrial heritage buildings, this time on the cliff top, made more atmospheric by the bleak weather.
