After being dropped off outside the Patterdale Hotel we walked through the village and started another day of climbing hills.

With the cloud disappearing the views open up, here showing Hayeswater below, now being returned from a dammed reservoir back to a natural lake.

Looking to the East relatively flat farmland signals the end of the Lakeland hills.

Howard tells the group about the roman road across these hills, the course of which can be seen along the ridge in front of us, now known as High Street

The highest point on the Coast to Coast path has been reached, Kidsty Pike, 708 metres or 2560 feet
