After moving inland into farmland the hard frost can still be seen in shady areas, and would last all day.

The sun shines out of a gin clear sky.

We arrived at the lunch stop and hundreds of cobwebs can be seen decorating the field catching the sun's rays

The group settles down for lunch - there were cattle in the field...

..... one of which takes a fancy to Archie!

As the sun sets the light catches humps and bumps in the landscape

Frost is returning as the temperature reduces

The 'golden hour' has come and the landscape is bathed in gorgeous orange light

A distant bonfire illustrates a temperature inversion where smoke rises strongly through cool air at ground level but cannot rise above the level warmed by the receding sun
