Some welcome morning sunshine adds to the view to the North, with the white painted lighthouse at Trevose Head, passed in stormy weather yesterday, just visible.
On to Park Head and another look Northwards.
Archaeologists at Park Head excavating burial mounds before they disappear over the cliffs due to erosion. It is thought that when they were built in the late Bronze and early Iron ages the sea was many miles away.
Carnewas and the Bedruthan Steps. The Bedruthan steps is a series of stacks across the beach, and according to victorian mythology they were put there by a giant called Bedruthan as stepping stones to enable him to cross the beach without getting his size 98s wet!

Looking across Watergate beach in the direction of Newquay, not yet visible. The squall out to sea was heading this way!
Further down Watergate Bay and Newquay is visible - the squall is about to dump heavy rain on everyone.
The squall has gone now, and the remains of a rainbow is on the horizon. Enough time remains to walk the rest of the way into Newquay to dry out before arriving at the B&B.
