Baggy Point is very different in character from Morte Point. On Baggy, the path climbs higher as one nears the Point, with vertical cliffs dropping precipitously away, until suddenly the end of land is reached with the sea way below.

Henry Williamson who wrote 'Tarka the Otter' is said to have been fond of Baggy Point.

A whale bone (pelvis?) is all that remains of a whale washed up on the beach at Croyde Bay.

... and on to Saunton Sands. A magnificent 3.5 mile sweep of sand backed by acres of large grass covered sand dunes. The high cloud swept away by the wind from right to left leaving a bright sunny day.

Heading towards Braunton I catch up with Susan, encountered several times over the last few days. She and her companion, Helen, started on the same day as me but Helen is a faster walker and often raced off ahead.

Wrecked boats litter the marshes at Venator on the way to Braunton.
